A reminder for all employers of two law changes which are still important in spite of the current situation and employees being on furlough leave.
1) Annual Leave Reference Period
From 6 April 2020, the reference period for calculating holiday pay for workers with no regular working hours will be extended to 52 weeks (or, if less, the number of complete weeks the worker has been employed).
2) National Minimum Wage
From 6 April 2020, the new National Minimum Wage rates are:
25 and over: £8.72
21 to 24: £8.20
18 to 20: £6.45
Under 18: £4.55
